HUMAN CONCERNS:  OCTOBER FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

Thurgood Marshall, a justice on the Supreme Court, ate a can of Campbell’s chicken soup every day for lunch. He was asked why he ate this when he had the means to buy anything he wanted. His answer, “Life can be unpredictable but a can of Campbell’s chicken soup is predictable”. When my son came home from serving in Afghanistan I told him I would cook him anything he wanted. His request was a grilled cheese sandwich with Campbells tomato soup. While canned soup is not like homemade, it has its place as a comforting, quick, and warm food.

During the month of October we will be collecting soup, canned and dry, for the Central City Food Pantry.  The weather is  getting cooler and there is nothing like a hot bowl of soup.

As always we accept any food or monetary donations.  Pamela Gustafson

NOTICE – ALUMINUM CAN DEADLINE IS NEAR
