Memorial Committee

memorial_committeeThe Memorial Committee, with the help of the Pastor, promotes giving by St. Stephen members and non-members through the use of printed and spoken announcements along with newsletter articles. Potential needs are identified, and the committee then works to purchase items for the church or to make donations for benevolence both in and outside the congregation. Members and friends who give memorials may either designate specific gifts or give to the Undesignated Memorial Fund. Envelopes for making donations are in the narthex on the table leading into the sanctuary and on the guest book stand. The Committee meets quarterly and keeps the Special Gifts Brochure updated with suggestions for giving. Members of the committee are, Dick Kroll, Carol Birk, Faith O’Connell, Nancy Hoffman and chairperson, Sandy Petricek, lspetricek@tds.net

Currently we are raising funds for the Prayer Garden and new narthex furniture.

We are looking for people who would like to join our committee. Consider joining us.

Prayer Garden Committee

Plans for the Prayer Garden were started in 2009. Our vision was a place where people could pray, read scripture, meditate, reflect, interact with nature and meet others in a beautiful setting to celebrate all the blessings God has provided. It is open to the community as well as members of St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church. Two phases have been completed with a handicapped pathway, stone pavers and crushed granite circles, rock walls, a rose garden, rain garden and other plantings. Our goal is to complete the ground work by 2015, if funds become available.

The committee members include: Julie Starks, Heidi Hennessy, Kathryn Knoll, Doug Winters, Cindy Nettles, Faith O’Connell and chairperson, Sandy Petricek, lspetricek@tds.net

We are always looking for new members. Please consider joining our team!

Daily Bible Verse

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
